Here's a video of my former client performing inverted grip lateral shoulder raises while standing on a bosu-ball.  The primary key here is inter-muscular coordination.  As we get older, our reflexes naturally deteriorate, but that deterioration is increased in sedentary individuals.  Therefore, workouts that puts the client in a perpetual off balanced state is key to shocking the nervous system which acts as a medium between the brain and the muscle.
