My client performs stability ball planks after being unable to hold a floor plank for more than three seconds a couple of years prior to this.  There are two variations to this exercise depending on your strength and experience level.  As you can see, her elbows are in line with her shoulders, which is fundamental to performing a proper floor plank.  However, due to the fact that the stability ball is an unstable obstacle, (adding difficulty) you can bring your elbows closer to your body to give your brain and nervous system time to decide which muscles to engage during this workout.
